Thanksgiving Day

Hallowe'en

Halloween (or Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday observed on October 31, which commonly includes activities such as trick-or-treating, attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.

Elements of the autumn season, such as pumpkins, corn husks, and scarecrows, are also prevalent. Homes are often decorated with these types of symbols around Halloween.

Halloween imagery includes themes of death, evil, the occult, or mythical monsters. Black and orange are the holiday's traditional colors.

EUROPE DAY

This Monday, 9th of May is Europe Day. This event is celebrated by the members of the International European Movement. Today more than 20 countries will be celebrating the 61st Anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, trying to bring together people from local communities across Europe to share and exchange experiences, opinions, values and to learn from history to build our future.

Scotland - some facts and people

• Scotland's location in the world:

• Its capital is the beautiful and romantic city of Edinburgh.

• The flag is white and blue as shown below:

• The country is also known for some old monuments, like The National Wallace Monument 

and Edinburgh Castle:

• Scotland is the land of many famous people:

Sean Connery, an actor and maybe the best "James Bond" ever

• Footbal and rugby are the two most popular sports played and watched.
